The legend AVGVSTVS / TRIBVNIC / POTEST is displayed in three horizontal lines within the wreath, with no portrait effigy present. The oak wreath is a deliberate allusion to the corona civica awarded to Augustus by the Senate in 27 BC for saving the lives of Roman citizens.
