In her right hand she holds a rudder set upon the ground, symbolising the guidance of fate, while her left hand grasps a cornucopiae, emblematic of abundance and prosperity. The figure is depicted in a calm, frontal stance with drapery falling in classical folds. The senatorial authority mark S C (Senatus Consultum) is prominently placed in the field, flanking the reverse legend, affirming the Senate's role in authorising bronze coinage. The composition reflects the standard Nervan reverse type promoting Fortuna Augusti as a dynastic virtue. |
