| Obverse description | Radiate bust of Nero facing right, with a small globe at the base of the neck truncation, rendered in the broad-faced portraiture characteristic of his later coinage. The emperor's hair is depicted in the layered, combed-forward style fashionable during his reign. A circular Latin legend runs along the full periphery of the flan, identifying the emperor with his full titulature. The overall relief is bold, typical of Julio-Claudian bronze coinage struck at Rome. |
