The emperor is depicted wearing a paludamentum (military cloak) fastened at the shoulder, with the points of the radiate crown clearly visible. The surrounding field carries a beaded border, and the Latin legend encircles the effigy from left to right. The portrait reflects the refined Hellenistic artistic influence that distinguishes Hadrianic coinage from earlier Flavian issues. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | Fortuna Redux (Fortune the Home-bringer) seated left on a throne, draped, holding a rudder in her right hand set upon a globe and a cornucopia in her left hand, emblems respectively of her guidance over fate and her abundance. The senatorial authorization mark S C (Senatus Consulto) appears in the central field to either side of the enthroned figure. The partial legend FORT RED is inscribed along the lower exergual area, while the remainder of the titulature P M TR P COS III encircles the upper field, all within a beaded border. The composition reflects the standard Hadrianic reverse type celebrating Fortuna Redux, likely commemorating Hadrian's safe return to Rome. |
