In her extended right hand she holds a rudder, symbolising the guidance of fate, while her left arm cradles a cornucopia, emblem of abundance and prosperity. The legend FORTVNAE REDVCI, invoking Fortune's safe return, arcs around the upper field, with the senatorial authorisation mark S C prominently displayed in the lower exergual area. The composition is characteristic of Hadrianic reverse types celebrating the emperor's return from travels. |
