| Beschrijving voorzijde | The Dutch lion rampant facing left, depicted in bold relief, grasping in its right forepaw a bundle of arrows and in its left a pole surmounted by a Liberty cap (Vrijheidshoed), emblematic of the Dutch Republic's sovereignty. The lion stands within a fenced enclosure (the hortus conclusus or tuin), rendered with horizontal fence palings curving around the base of the composition. No legend or inscription appears in the field, the entire design filling the flan to the rim. |

The incuse impression is characteristic of this distinctive variety of Holland Duit, where the design appears recessed rather than raised, with no additional inscription or border element. |
