The scene is rendered in a Byzantine-influenced Gothic style typical of Hospitaller coinage. The legend in uncial Latin characters surrounds the figures within the coin's border, identifying both the patron saint and the Grand Master. |

| Opis rewersu | The reverse features a frontal standing figure of Christ Pantocrator, nimbate, raising his right hand in benediction and holding the Gospels in his left, depicted in a hieratic Byzantine style. He is enclosed within a beaded mandorla formed by a double elliptical border, with a field of six-pointed stars distributed around the figure within and about the mandorla. The surrounding uncial Latin legend encircles the design along the outer border of the flan. |
