Surrounding the central scene are ten smaller oval and rectangular relief cartouches depicting notable landmarks and symbols of Dubrovnik, including city gates, towers, the Onofrio Fountain, a sailing ship, the Rector's Palace, and a coastal landscape labeled BABIN KUK. The word LIBERTAS appears in the upper-left cartouche, referencing the historic motto of the Republic of Ragusa. Two suspension holes are pierced at the top of the piece. |
