| Reverse description | A fire altar (atasdan) depicted centrally, its column draped with ribbons whose ends point upward, flanked by two attendants standing frontally as fire-tenders. A star appears to the left of the altar and a crescent to the right, placed within the inner field. The entire design is enclosed by a triple border, with four crescents each bearing a star symmetrically distributed about the field in the four quadrants, a hallmark of late Sasanian coinage iconography. |
