Strato II ruled the last gasping fragment of Indo-Greek territory in the Punjab at a moment when Scythian pressure had already extinguished every other Greek kingdom east of the Euphrates. His coinage — bilingual in Greek and Kharosthi — was a practical concession to a population that had largely abandoned Greek as a living administrative language. The kingdom ended with him, almost certainly absorbed by the Apracharajas or Indo-Scythian rulers sometime in the early first century AD.
