| Reverse description | The reverse depicts a horse or equine figure shown in profile walking or stepping to the right, rendered in a bold and somewhat stylised hammered technique. The animal occupies the central field of the flan with the Kharoshthi legend disposed around the periphery, reading 'Maharajasa Rajadhirajasa Tratara Mahata' (Of the Great King, King of Kings, the Great Saviour), closely mirroring the Greek titulature of the obverse. The die workmanship is typical of the anonymous Soter Megas copper series, with the design elements clearly struck though subject to some wear and flan irregularity. |
