| 表面の説明 | Debased draped bust of the king facing left, with a long beard and wearing a tiara adorned with a beaded border. A crescent symbol appears to the upper right of the effigy, with an anchor device below or adjacent, both serving as royal and dynastic emblems. The portrait is rendered in the late Parthian provincial style characteristic of Elymaean coinage, with broad, summary engraving typical of the late Arsacid period. The entire design is set within a beaded border, visible along the coin's circumference. |

Orodes III ruled Elymais — a semi-independent kingdom in what is now southwestern Iran — as a vassal under Parthian suzerainty, though the dynasty maintained its own coinage well into the second century. By this period, Elymaean silver had degraded so severely that "billon" is generous; many issues approach bronze in actual silver content, reflecting either deliberate debasement or the kingdom's increasingly marginal economic position relative to its Parthian overlords.
Haaff's reference work remains the definitive classification for this series, and the 16.2 grouping covers a documented die progression with meaningful variation between subvarieties.
