裏面の説明	Arsaces I, the dynastic founder and emblematic archer figure of the Parthian coinage, is depicted seated right on a throne or omphalos, wearing the traditional Parthian kyrbasia (soft pointed cap) and segmented scale armor. He holds a bow in his left hand and an arrow in his right, the composite bow being a principal symbol of Arsacid royal authority. A monogram appears in the left field behind the figure. The Greek inscription, arranged in four lines framing the central type in a rectangular border, reads ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΜΕΓΑΛΟΥ ΑΡΣΑΚΟΥ, meaning 'of the Great King Arsaces,' with a partially preserved additional element.

追加情報	Mithradates II ruled the Parthian Empire at its greatest territorial extent, pushing west into Mesopotamia and east into territories that brought him into direct contact with the Han Chinese diplomatic network — he is the Parthian king referenced in Chinese sources as receiving envoys along what would later be called the Silk Road. His reign was long and aggressive enough that his coinage went through multiple distinct phases, and the Sellwood 26 group sits within his middle period, after the conquest of Mesopotamia from the Seleucids but before the administrative reforms of his later years. He took the title "King of Kings," the first Arsacid ruler to do so.
