The sun god's characteristic radiate crown is depicted as pointed rays emanating from the hair around the entire circumference of the head. The facial features are finely articulated, with a serene expression, slightly parted lips, and naturalistic modelling of the cheeks and brow typical of late Rhodian coinage. No legend appears on the obverse, the entire flan being dominated by the imposing effigy. |
