| Obverse description | Right-facing bust of the deified hero Herakles, portrayed with idealized youthful features in the Lysippan tradition, enveloped in the scalp of the Nemean lion, the beast's gaping jaws framing the crown of his head and its forepaws knotted at his neck. The high-relief portrait exhibits finely rendered musculature of the face and a pronounced brow, characteristic of the Macedonian royal coinage type. The coin is bordered by a beaded inner circle, partially visible on the well-struck flan. |

| Reverse description | Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned to the left upon a backless throne, his nude torso rendered in profile with a draped lower body; he extends his right hand forward to present an eagle with spread wings, while his left hand firmly grasps a tall upright scepter. In the left field below the throne, a palm branch tied with fillets serves as a mint control symbol, and in the exergue appears a spear-head as a further control mark. The Greek legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the right field, identifying the coin as issued in the name of Alexander. The composition adheres closely to the canonical reverse type established under Alexander III and continued by his successors. |
