Reverse description Zeus Aëtophoros enthroned left on a high-backed throne, his upper body nude and muscular, draped from the waist in a himation falling over his legs. He extends his right hand forward bearing an eagle with closed wings, while his left hand holds a long sceptre upright. In the left field, the Macedonian royal symbol, the Greek letter epsilon (Ε), serves as a mint control mark. A small thunderbolt appears beneath the throne. The vertical Greek legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs down the right field, reading from top to bottom.
