| Obverse description | Youthful, beardless head of Heracles facing right, clad in the Nemean lion skin headdress, with the scalp and forepaws knotted beneath the chin. The fine detail of the mane and curling hair is rendered in the Hellenistic style, with the musculature of the lion's snout visible above the brow. The portrait conveys the heroic idealization associated with Alexander III's dynastic coinage, serving as an implicit royal effigy. No legend appears on the obverse. |
