The musculature of the hero's features is boldly modelled, with the lion's muzzle resting atop the head and its forepaws knotted beneath the chin. The flan is slightly irregular, with no inscription on the obverse, consistent with the standard posthumous Alexandrine drachm coinage of the Diadoch period. |

In the left field, a star appears above a Macedonian helmet, serving as mint control symbols associated with the Abydos issue. The Greek legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the right field, and the composition reflects the canonical reverse type established under Alexander III and continued by his successors. |
