| Reverse description | Draped bust of Sarapis facing right, crowned with the kalathos (modius), an Ammonian ram's horn curling behind the ear, and a wreath encircling the headdress, all rendered in the syncretic Greco-Egyptian iconographic tradition of the Alexandrian mint. The god's flowing beard and hair are depicted with characteristic provincial artistry, merging Egyptian and Hellenistic divine attributes. The date regnal formula L K (Year 20, corresponding to the Egyptian regnal year 135–136 CE) appears in the field, serving as the primary chronological indicator on this issue. The broad, irregular bronze flan and bold relief typify the large-module drachm coinage of Hadrian's Alexandrian mint. |
