Three countermarks depicting Sogdian heads are applied around the central effigy — one visible at the upper field and two flanking the bust — each struck with a small punch over the original die work. The overall design faithfully follows Sasanian prototype iconography while exhibiting the cruder workmanship characteristic of Northern Tokharistan local imitations. |
