| Beschrijving voorzijde | Diademed head of Ariarathes IX facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic portrait tradition with finely detailed curling hair swept back from the forehead and bound by a royal diadem whose ends trail behind the neck. The facial features are youthful and idealized, with a smooth cheek, defined brow, and slightly parted lips. The portrait is set within a plain, slightly irregular round flan characteristic of hammered silver coinage of the Cappadocian kingdom. |

The royal legend is disposed in two lines flanking the deity, naming the king with his epithets. |
