追加情報	Ariarathes IX ruled Cappadocia largely as a puppet of Mithridates VI of Pontus — his own father, who had installed him on the throne after engineering the removal of the previous king. The kingdom's autonomy was nominal at best during these years, with Cappadocian coinage functioning as much as a declaration of legitimate succession as anything administratively practical. Rome eventually intervened, recognizing Ariobarzanes I as the rightful ruler around 96 BC and forcing a sequence of contested restorations that left Ariarathes IX's actual reign fragmented and disputed across the numismatic record.
