| Obverse description | Diademed portrait bust of Ariarathes IX Eusebes Philopator facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic tradition with finely engraved wavy hair swept back from the forehead and secured by a royal diadem, the ends of which fall behind the neck. The facial features are sharply defined, displaying a strong profile with a prominent nose and well-modeled chin characteristic of late Cappadocian royal portraiture. The field is plain, with no border of dots visible on this specimen. |
