| Description du revers | Zeus Aetophoros enthroned left on a backless throne, his nude upper body rendered in three-quarter view, his extended right hand supporting an eagle with closed wings, and his left hand grasping a tall sceptre. The Greek legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ runs along the right field, identifying the coin as issued in the name of Alexander. In the left field appears a monogram serving as a mint or magistrate control mark, while a club symbol occupies the right field below the legend as a secondary control mark. The composition follows the canonical Alexandrine reverse type established at the outset of his campaigns. |
