Reverse description Central fire altar with attendant figures flanking both sides, each standing guard in the traditional Zoroastrian Sasanian manner, depicted frontally with hands raised toward the altar flame. The composition closely follows late Sasanian drachm prototypes. Beaded borders frame the central design, and Arabic marginal inscriptions appear in the outer ring, supplanting the original Pahlavi regnal and dating legends with Islamic formulae appropriate to the Umayyad administration.
