The die engraving displays the vigorous, somewhat stylized character characteristic of northern Aegean mint production of the fifth and fourth centuries BC.

背面描述	Herakles depicted kneeling to right in the act of drawing his bow, his body shown in three-quarter view with musculature rendered in the archaic convention. The hero wears the Nemean lion skin, with the pelt draped over his shoulders and forearm; a lion's head appears to the right, facing right. The design is set within a shallow incuse square, characteristic of early hammered Greek coinage, with the legend ΘΑΣΙΟΝ inscribed in the field identifying the issuing city of Thasos.
