| Beschrijving voorzijde | Facing head of Hermes, turned very slightly to the right, rendered with fine archaic-transitional style engraving. The god wears a broad-brimmed petasus, its rim framing the youthful visage with flowing locks of hair descending along the cheeks. The facial features are modeled with considerable detail, displaying large almond-shaped eyes, a straight nose, and parted lips characteristic of the skilled Ainetan die-cutters of the mid-fourth century BC. |
