Obverse description Helmeted head of Athena facing right, wearing an Attic helmet with a prominent crest adorned with a figural representation of Scylla. The portrait is rendered in the archaic-to-classical Thessalian style, with fine detail on the cheek guard and neck guard of the helmet. The field is plain.

Reverse description A Thessalian horseman galloping to the right, depicted wearing a petasos, chiton, and carrying a lagobolon (hare-hunting stick). The figure is set within an incuse square divided into four quadrants, each containing one letter of the city ethnic ΦΑΡΣ (Phars[alos]), read at the four corners of the incuse. The composition reflects the characteristic Thessalian equestrian iconography of the classical period.
