Obverse description Forepart of a roaring lion advancing to the right, with open jaws and prominent mane rendered in archaic style. The musculature and mane are boldly modelled in high relief, characteristic of late Archaic Greek coinage. The flan is irregular, with the design occupying the majority of the field.
