The laurel wreath is depicted with naturalistic detail across the brow, and the god's strong profile conveys the commanding presence characteristic of late Boeotian League coinage. The hair flows in deeply engraved, undulating locks behind the neck, and the rendering of the facial features — prominent nose, heavy brow, and parted lips — reflects the high artistic standard of the period. The field is plain, with no legend on the obverse. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | Nike standing facing, with head turned to the left, depicted in a flowing chiton with wings spread. In her extended right hand she holds a wreath, and in her left hand a trident, an attribute associating her with the Poseidon iconography of the obverse. To the left of the figure, a magistrate's monogram appears in the upper field above the Greek letter Ξ (Xi). The ethnic legend ΒΟΙΩΤΩΝ is inscribed in the field, identifying the issuing authority as the Boeotian League. The composition is well-centered and typical of the federal silver coinage of the League during the late 3rd to early 2nd century BC. |
