Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Henri IV facing right, draped in a ruffled collar, occupying the central field. The royal effigy is rendered in a bold, somewhat crude hammered style typical of provincial mint production. A circular beaded or rope border frames the design. The Latin legend surrounding the bust reads HENRIC IIII D G FRANC ET NAVA REX, identifying the king as Henri IV, by the Grace of God King of France and Navarre, with the Clermont-en-Auvergne mint mark O placed at the end of the legend.
