| Obverse description | Within the central field, the ducal title is rendered in two lines reading BRI / TAN, accompanied by two or three ermine spots (mouchetures) positioned above the text, serving as the heraldic initial mark of the Duchy of Brittany. The surrounding circular legend identifies the issuer as Charles, Duke of Brittany.
