| Beschrijving keerzijde | A plain cross pattée divides the reverse field into four quarters, with a small heraldic device — either a leopard or a fleur-de-lis — appearing in one or more quarters, consistent with the arms of Aquitaine and England. The cross extends to an inner beaded circle, outside of which the circumferential legend runs in Gothic uncial script. The design is characteristic of the Anglo-Gascon double denier series, reflecting the dual lordship of the English crown over the Duchy of Aquitaine. The flan is irregularly shaped, as is typical of hammered medieval issues. |
