| Descrizione del rovescio | A shallow incuse punch occupies the reverse field, containing two opposed crescents flanked by teardrop- or pellet-like decorative patterns. The incuse design is characteristic of Achaemenid hammered coinage, where the reverse was produced by a punch driven into the blank to secure it during striking. The geometric arrangement of crescents and drops is rendered within the recessed square, typical of Persian royal gold issues of this period. |
