| Obverse description | The Persian Great King or royal hero depicted in kneeling-running stance to right, wearing the kidaris (royal tiara) and kandys (court robe), holding a spear in the right hand and a bow in the left hand. To the right of the figure, a horse's head faces right, positioned above the IAP monogram in the field. The figure is rendered in the characteristic Achaemenid artistic style, conveying regal authority and martial prowess. The composition fills the flan with bold, well-modeled relief typical of late Achaemenid gold coinage. |
