Obverse description Central field contains the Shahada inscription arranged in multiple horizontal lines within a beaded inner circle, following the Samanid dirham layout. An intermediate annular legend band surrounds the central medallion, separated by a second beaded border. The outer marginal legend, running continuously around the coin's periphery, carries the mint name Suwar and the Hijri date 343, with the unit of the date written as 'thalatha' using the lam-alif ligature. The die is struck on an irregularly shaped flan, consistent with hand-hammered production, with some flatness and die shift visible across the field.
