Reverse description Central field displays the reverse Shahada — 'Muhammad rasul Allah' — arranged in multiple horizontal lines within a beaded inner circle, closely imitating the standard Samanid reverse type. An intermediate annular inscription band encircles the central medallion. The outer marginal legend follows the Samanid formula, naming the Abbasid caliph and the Samanid amir in accordance with the prototype, though the coin was struck under Volga Bulgarian authority imitating these types. The flan is irregular and the strike is moderately well-centred, with some weakness at the margins typical of hammered issues of this period.
