| Reverse description | Central field displaying a multi-line Arabic inscription in Maghrebi script, arranged in stacked horizontal lines and struck in bold raised relief. The marginal area carries a circular legend running along the periphery of the irregular flan, recording the mint name Tanger and the Hijri regnal date. The epigraphy is characteristic of the Alaouite dynasty coinage under Sultan Sidi Mohammed III, with densely packed cursive letterforms. The flan is irregular in outline and shows surface porosity consistent with the hammered production technique of the Tanger mint. No figurative or decorative elements are present. |
