The Julandids of Oman were a persistent anomaly in tenth-century Islamic numismatics — a dynasty of obscure regional governors who nonetheless struck dirhams citing the Abbasid caliph, performing the expected gestures of legitimacy while operating at the empire's furthest administrative margins.
