Obverse description Within a circular border, the tughra or seal of the Sultan is depicted at center, surrounded by the mint name and date of issue. An encircling benedictory or greeting legend frames the design in the outer field. The inscription is rendered in Arabic script in a style characteristic of Seljuk coinage of Anatolia.

Reverse description Within a beaded circle, the Sultan's titulature is arranged in four lines of Arabic text, divided into two registers by a central arabesque ornament. The calligraphy follows the Naskh or Kufic traditions typical of Seljuk hammered silver coinage of the mid-thirteenth century. The fields surrounding the beaded border are plain.
