Multi-line Arabic inscription fills the central hexagonal field, bearing religious formulae and/or mint and date information. The interstices between the star's triangular points and the surrounding beaded rim are filled with Arabic marginal legends, all struck on an irregularly shaped silver flan typical of hammered medieval Islamic dirhams. |
