| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field bears a trilingual inscription combining Mongolian in Uighur script, Arabic, and an unidentified Phags-pa legend positioned to the left. The primary Mongolian legend reads 'Tengriyin Küchündür' (By the Might of Heaven), invoking the traditional Mongol celestial mandate, while the ruler's name and title appear in Arabic as 'Ghazan Mahmoud'. The Phags-pa inscription, rendered in the imperial Mongol square script, occupies the left portion of the field. The overall composition reflects the syncretic cultural and religious identity of the Ilkhanate under Ghazan's reign, blending Islamic, Mongolian, and Tibetan Buddhist scribal traditions. The hammered flan is irregular in outline, typical of Ilkhanid silver dirhams of this period. |
