| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central field bears a multi-line Arabic legend arranged within a linear or dotted border frame, recording the mint name and AH date in Naskh-style script typical of Golden Horde coinage. The inscription identifies the place of striking as the City of Qrim and records the regnal year 796 AH. The flan edges are irregular and show characteristic clipping, consistent with hammered silver coinage of the western Golden Horde ulus. The overall strike is moderately well-centered with some weakness at the periphery, and a granular surface texture is visible in the field. |

Tochtamysh — the khan who briefly reunified the eastern and western wings of the Golden Horde — struck this issue at Qrim during one of the most turbulent stretches of his reign. By 1394 he had already suffered catastrophic defeat at the hands of Timur on the Terek River the previous year, and his authority over the Crimean mints was increasingly precarious. Qrim itself, as one of the Horde's principal commercial centers on the Black Sea trade routes, continued producing dirhams even as the political order fractured around it.
Tochtamysh was driven from power entirely by 1395 following Timur's second, definitive campaign against him.
