Obverse description Central field occupied by a multi-line Arabic legend arranged in a characteristic Golden Horde cartouche format, struck in bold relief with flowing Naskh-style script. The inscription reads the royal titulature of Sultan Toqtamish Khan with the pious invocation for the longevity of his reign. The flan is irregular and slightly ragged at the edges, as is typical of hammered Golden Horde dirhams of this period. The field shows moderate die wear with some flatness to the central strike, consistent with the high-volume production of late 14th-century Qrim mint issues.
