| Popis rubu | Reverse field bears multi-line Arabic inscriptions in flowing cursive script, disposed across the flan without a central cartouche, referencing the mint name al-Jadidah and the date of issue in the Hijri calendar. The legends are arranged in several horizontal registers with additional marginal text. The style is consistent with late Golden Horde coinage, with densely packed calligraphy occupying the entire available surface. The irregular flan and variable strike depth are typical of hammered silver dirhams of this period. |

Timur Qutluq seized the Golden Horde throne in 1397 after Tokhtamysh — backed by Timur himself — was driven out following the catastrophic Battle of the Kondurcha River. The Ulugh al-Jadidah mint, one of the Horde's more active urban strikes, was producing coinage under rapid political turnover; Timur Qutluq's reign lasted only until 1399, making his issues inherently short-window. This particular weight falls notably below the reformed dang standard, reflecting the broader debasement pressure the Horde's mints were under during the succession chaos of the 1390s.
