| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse displays a multi-line Arabic legend in bold, angular script occupying the entire field of the irregularly shaped flan. The inscription, characteristic of Golden Horde coinage, proclaims the name and title of Khan Berdi Beg in the typical formulaic manner. The lettering is deeply struck in the hammered style, with individual strokes boldly raised against the flat field. A small pellet or decorative element is visible to the left in the field. The overall composition is densely epigraphic with no figurative elements, consistent with the aniconic tradition of Islamic coinage. |
