The central legend is enclosed within a single inner circle, surrounded by a marginal inscription band containing a Quranic or mint legend in Kufic script. The overall style is purely epigraphic, devoid of figurative imagery, consistent with post-reform Umayyad coinage introduced under Caliph Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan in 77 AH (696/697 CE). The coin displays characteristic irregular flan edges and slightly uneven strike typical of hammered silver production. |
