| Reverse description | Central field bears a three-line Kufic Arabic religious inscription reading 'الله أحد الله الصمد لم يلد ولم يولد' (God is One, God is Eternal, He begets not, nor was He begotten), derived from Surah Al-Ikhlas (112) of the Quran. A circular marginal legend in Kufic script encircles the central inscription, typically containing the mint name and date formula. The overall design is entirely epigraphic, with no decorative motifs, in strict adherence to the aniconic Umayyad reformed coinage style. The hammered strike results in a somewhat uneven distribution of the legends across the flan. |
