| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse displays a central field bearing Qur'an Surah 112 (Al-Ikhlas) in four lines of Kufic script, affirming the absolute unity and uniqueness of God, enclosed within a double linear border. A single pellet or annulet appears above and below the central text block within the inner field. The marginal legend encircling the outer annulus carries the Mission verse, Qur'an 9:33, proclaiming the prophethood of Muhammad, executed in the same angular early Kufic style as the obverse. The inscription-only composition, devoid of any figural or decorative motifs, is characteristic of the epigraphic reform dirhams of the early Islamic period and the transitional coinage of the Abbasid revolution. |
