The outer marginal legend presents a Quranic verse from Surat al-Rum (30:4-5) referencing divine authority and the rejoicing of the believers in God's victory. The flan is irregular and slightly ragged at the edges, consistent with hammered Abbasid silver dirhams of the Samarra mint period. The overall style and epigraphy are characteristic of the transitional coinage struck briefly during al-Muntasir's short reign. |
